The new chair-lift Pancheron: the future is here. The renewal cycle, started with the new management of Cervino S.P.A. with the Autonomous Region of Valle d’Aosta as main shareholder since last year, is now going on: Pancheron chair-lift. An important and clean step forward the future of the district. The new chair-lift, with automatic vicing, a dome protection and child safety, is the most modern example of cableway. By starting next to the arrival of Cretaz chair-lift, this new system, providing an hourly flow of 3000 people, covers a difference in height of 512 m. ( departure station 2.438m, arrival station 2.950m). The modern Pancheron chair-lift ( estimated cost for the whole system :11.5 million € ) is a real demonstration of how the “new “ Cervino is working with the fundamental help of its main partner, the Autonomous Region of Valle d’Aosta, which paid for the whole cableway work and has to be thanked for its engagement in developing the tourist offer in the area of Breuil. Besides allowing ski fans to better exploit the Cretaz skiing area (at the foot of Matterhorn, one of the most amazing scenery), the new ”Pancheron “ can make the access to the area more efficient, making it possible for skiers to reach the “high ski slopes” of the skiable domain in a short ascent time even from the town centre. This area of the wide district of Breuil-Cervinia, is one of the jewels of the resort as it allows, besides skiing at the foot of Matterhorn, to enjoy highly technical ski slopes, suitable for skilful skiers or for those who want to improve their style. Moreover, all the ski area served by the Pancheron chair-lift, offers the fans of “off-track slopes” a great number of magnificent routes both for views and variety, with powdery snow in winter and “transformed” in spring, so as to allow beautiful ….wandering away the beaten slopes. By the development of the cable-way of Cretaz (starting from Breuil-Cervinia), a significant reduction in local traffic and shuttle-cars is foreseen, further improving the pure and bracing air of Breuil-Cervinia. So, another good reason to choose to ski at the foot of Matterhorn and to verify how the “Società Impianti Cervino S.P.A.” takes care not only of the updating of ski-systems but also of the environment and the nature surrounding the most imposing cliff in Europe.
